Réveillons!

Friday 10:30 pm / Saturday 3:00 pm (Gazebo)
Saturday 9:00 pm - Family Dance (Cultural Center)
Réveillons! is a quintet that draws the crowd with arrangements that have simmered in sulfur and asphalt, resolutely assertive and caustic traditional music, with its rush hours and its traffic jams, its terrace and its barbecue. Music that sings like the house sparrow, howls like the neighbor's dog and roars like a lawnmower.

Daniel Gervais

**Friday, 8:30 PM (Gazebo)**
Daniel Gervais, accompanied by Roger Dallaire, Jeremiah McDade, and Joel Lavoie, will present a performance rich in tradition to kick off the musical programming of the Carnaval Réveillon.

Daniel has been playing the violin since the age of five. He performs in a variety of fiddle and classical violin styles. Daniel earned a Master of Music degree in classical violin from the University of Alberta under the guidance of Dr. Guillaume Tardif. During his studies, he received a prestigious research scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).

Daniel has six albums to his name, including three solo albums: *Flying Fiddle* (2003), *Endless Possibilities* (2005), and *Old Red Barn* (2013). In 2006, he was nominated for "Young Performer of the Year" at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Daniel is a founding member of Trad'badour, a French-Canadian duo with Roger Dallaire, and Hot Club Edmonton with guitarist Clinton Pelletier. *Hot Club Edmonton* was awarded "Instrumental Album of the Year" at the Western Canadian Music Awards in 2010.
